<h3>Robb Olivieri works to build bridges in our community and create new jobs to power Phoenix’s future.</h3>He runs the Luminosity Lab at Arizona State University, an R&amp;D program to empower student innovators and entrepreneurs.&nbsp; Their award-winning work improves lives in Phoenix by solving real world problems and creates new companies that transform our city for the better. Their work has created safer face masks during COVID, fed hundreds of people who couldn’t access food banks, and has secured dozens of patents and millions of dollars in investment for Arizona-based ventures. The Luminosity team has worked with firms from around the world and here locally such as Phoenix Children's Hospital and the City of Phoenix. They are currently working with the Office of Homeless Solutions in Phoenix to develop a set of software tools for the outreach team to address real-time bed tracking and inventory in shelters, leading to getting people off the streets quicker to get the help they need and keeping our communities safe. Over the years, Luminosity teams have won global competitions such as the X-Prize and Red Bull Basements Challenge, as well as being recognized by Governor Hobbs as the Most Innovative Program in the State in 2023. Robb also leads the Melrose Community Alliance, which supports the residents and neighborhoods of Melrose, small business growth, and works with the City to improve public safety, quality of life and build community in Phoenix.&nbsp; Working on a wide range of issues from pot holes and alleys to permitting and zoning, the Melrose Community Alliance has worked tirelessly to bring people together. That’s why it was recognized as the best neighborhood association in Phoenix District 4 in 2024.&nbsp; Between his work at ASU and in the community, two threads run through it all: building relationships and solving problems. With a proven track record, he’s running for City Council to improve our city by protecting our quality of life, investing in our neighborhoods, and creating an economy that works for Phoenicians. <h4>Robb Olivieri’s work has been to build up our community and create the jobs of Phoenix’s future.&nbsp; Future focused, community driven.</h4>

Modernizing City Hall to make our government work for its constituents – the citizens of Phoenix.<ul><li>Robb has a track record of doing this, during COVID Luminosity Lab teams deployed a crowd source PPE network for faster fulfillment for hospitals and service providers throughout the state, as well as working with St. Marys Food Bank, Amazon, and a network of volunteers to provide food to food insecure families from Title I Schools. Today, they are working with the Phoenix Office of Homeless Solutions to develop software tools to get individuals off the streets and into shelters quicker. Technology and innovation should be used, but more than anything an improved user experience for the people of Phoenix is needed.<ul><li>Robb believes we should leverage technology where plausible to make it easier for City of Phoenix employees to work with and on behalf of Phoenicians, providing better services and guidance to constituents to solve problems and know their resources available.</li><li>There is also a need to bring down walls and departmental silos that exist in the City, and hinder small business and neighborhood success.</li><li>Robb wants to attract non-traditional talent to the City by partnering with local higher education partners to get fresh perspectives, boost City capacity to solve problems, and retain top talent in Phoenix.</li><li>Robb will convene tech, academia, and civic leaders to find and attack our most urgent problems.</li><li>Phoenix can be the most innovative city in America – Robb will be a key reason why.</li></ul></li></ul>

Supporting Community Safety and making families feel at home.<ul><li>In a time when things feel chaotic, uncertain, and even scary for many of us, Robb knows the importance of community building, community resiliency, and local solutions. Having worked on this to bring neighbors together and foster the fertile ground for community, it is critical to reconnect City Hall back to our neighborhoods and communities.<ul><li>Robb advocates for increased support for neighborhood associations, merchant associations, and community organizations.</li><li>In order to connect, communities need places to gather. Robb plans to support an increase in third spaces, where people can gather and interact with each other in a low barrier to entry way.</li><li>Our streets should be safe, both from speed and crime, but also safe for everyone to express themselves freely without fear of being who they are.</li><li>When we have safe streets where our kids can walk to go play in our parks, we’re meeting our commitment to our citizens.</li><li>By creating a task force to connect police officers with community leaders, we strengthen neighborhood safety and resiliency.</li></ul></li></ul>

Creating the high-wage jobs that power Phoenix’s future<ul><li>By working on the community level with the small business ecosystem in Melrose and Phoenix more broadly, helping through the permitting and zoning process, garnering neighborhood support, and promoting support for local businesses, as well as working with local startups to power the economy and jobs of the future, Robb has worked ground to cloud in Phoenix's economy. <ul><li>Robb believes in supporting small and local businesses as the backbone of our communities. He will advocate for a more streamlined permitting process and support through the City.</li><li>Robb has helped lead the development of dozens of startups right in our own back yard.&nbsp; With his leadership, we can attract and keep the companies that power both today and tomorrow’s economies.</li><li>Robb will fight for workforce development and up-skilling to ensure nobody gets left behind as we build our economy of the future. He will work with schools and other partners to ensure Phoenicians are equipped to succeed in the economy of today and tomorrow.</li></ul></li></ul>
